Olivia Thompson

                       BSc. Hons Chiropractic

Olivia is originally from Henley-on-Thames where she grew up enjoying the river as a member of Henley Rowing Club (hence the name Thames Chiropractic). Following a back injury during winter training Olivia was introduced to a number of physical therapies which sparked an interest in McTimoney Chiropractic specifically as it was this that helped her on her road to recovery.

Olivia enjoys treating a wide range of patients from free range children to office bound adults through to the more gently moving elderly. Each presents different challenges and McTimoney Chiropractic adapts to treat them all appropriately.

McTimoney Chiropractic is a non-invasive, whole body treatment that encourages the body's own natural healing ability.  There are many McTimoney adjustments all of which rely on especially fast, yet tiny movements that do not create the 'cracking' often associated with chiropractic. The adjustments made are fast, precise, accurate and of low force making it a comfortable treatment to receive. This also makes the treatment suitable for people of all ages.

Treatment for All

McTimoney chiropractic treatment is wonderful for babies.  Using no more pressure than you would use on your eyeball, adjustments can help baby ease away birth traumas and grow and develop to be the best they can neurologically, physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively.  Treatment includes cranial work to ease strains as baby grows and unfurls.

Children go through a lot as they develop and grow. Olivia's assessment and treatment helps them to stay on track and thrive.

McTimoney chiropractic treatment during pregnancy can help to ease aches, pains and strains, maintain mobility and flexibility and may help to prepare the body for childbirth.

Chiropractic care cannot stop degenerative changes in older people but can help to ensure that joints function as well as possible and wear and tear is minimised through optimum alignment.  McTimoney chiropractic treatment can help the elderly stay active and mobile.

Chiropractic treatment focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical disorders involving the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.  It may help back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain as well as pain, discomfort and stiffness in joints.  Other complaints that may benefit from chiropractic treatment include muscular aches, sports injuries, arthritic pain, fibromyalgia and many more.

Chiropractic treatment can help to relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility by restoring optimum function, alignment and movement of the body. We put our bodies through a lot every day. Aches and pains (musculoskeletal discomfort) may be brought on for a number of reasons such as lifting, sports, carrying, falls, posture, repetitive activity, stress, accidents... everyday life.

Manipulation of the affected joint and surrounding tissues restores mobility so helping to alleviate pain and muscle tightness.  Correct alignment of your spine ensures that your body's nerve supply works efficiently.  As well as helping to alleviate back ache and pain, chiropractic care can also be used as a form of wellness care to help maintain musculoskeletal integrity to promote optimum health and wellbeing.

Adjustments are made by Chiropractors using only their highly skilled hands. Olivia is also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises.

McTimoney Chiropractic is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council.
